Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for the national highway projects worth Rs 40,453 crore in the state. He said that electric vehicles will be encouraged across the country. The Union Minister also requested everyone to support the projects to reduce carbon emissions. Kerala should encourage electric cars and buses.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also announced that by 2025, Kerala’s roads will be equal to those of America. The state will change in terms of development. Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road is very important. The Union Minister also assured that the money for the project will be given before March 2023.
Increasing infrastructure and employment opportunities is the central government’s agenda. Aroor Skyway is the longest in the country. Apart from this, the Kochi-Tuticorin corridor will also come into existence. The Union Minister also said that the Mysore-Malappuram corridor is the third.
