Kochi: The government order that male and female students can enter government medical college hostels even after 9.30 pm is applicable to all medical colleges, says HC. Justice Devan Ramachandran was considering a petition questioning the ban on girls leaving the Kozhikode Medical College Hostel after 9.30 pm.

The new order requires male and female students from the second year onwards to enter the hostel after 9.30 pm by entering in the movement register. The order also says that first year students should enter early. The health university also said that after 9.30 pm, they will be allowed to leave the hostel with the permission of the warden. The petitioners had demanded that the main reading room in Kozhikode Medical College be allowed to be used till 11 pm.
