Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told that a law against Love Jihad will be enacted soon. He also informed that the murder case of Shraddha Walkar will be handed over to the special investigation team. Fadnavis, who holds the Home portfolio, added that the new law will help to stop the physical and mental sufferings of inter caste married women.
Will request Union Home Minister Amit Shah to shift Shraddha Walkar murder case to the fast track court. If so, Aftab, the killer of Shraddha will get punishment within no time. No one is against inter faith marriage. But in some places, such marriages are as part of conspiracy, said the Deputy CM.
Shraddha had informed police over the physical torture she faced from her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala. But neither a case was filed, nor an enquiry done. Her complaint was withdrawn after a month. The special investigation team will find out if the withdrawal of the case was under pressure. Fadnavis also mentioned that the progress report of the investigation of Shraddha murder case will be presented in the Assembly’s budget session.
