Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition leader V D Satheeshan slams the state government over the buffer zone issue. He said that the state government is trying to escape from this issue. He also said that when the Oomman Chandi Government asked to avoid the residential area while deciding buffer zone, the Pinarayi Government added the residential areas intentionally. Draft declaration was not issued by the LDF government  on time, said Satheeshan.

Several residential areas are included In the new map. The residential wards Angel valley and Pamba Valley of Erumeli Panchayath, in Kottayam district, are still under the forest region. Previously, the satellite survey has also included this place under the forest region. Currently an area where approximately 5000 people are living is now under the forest region.

Protests against the buffer zone are accelerating in the state. In Kozhikode, Chembanoda, people conduct protests in the panchayath office. Many people including women and children participated in the protest. The Revenue minister K Rajan had said that there is no need for unnecessary protests and the residential areas will be avoided from the buffer zone.  He also said that the decision of the government will be informed to the court too.
