Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has informed that an alert is issued for the public amid the report on new Covid variant. She told that there is nothing to be worried at the present in the State. But people must be vigilant in the wake of festivals, Christmas and New Year. The Health Minister also added that more sample tests will be conducted.
The Health Department had held a high-level meeting as BS.7 has been reported in the country. Following this, alert has been issued to all districts. All people should be careful. As vaccination centres are still functioning in the State, people should make use of that. Necessory arrangements have been made, and the State is well prepared, added the minister.
Meanwhile, Veena George has made a flash visit to the Medical College Hospital, Alappuzha. H Salam MLA was also with her. The minister visited several sections in the Medical College including casualty, O P, Genecology departments and wards. The Health Minister communicated with the patients and the employees there.Veena George informed that the complaints regarding Alappuzha Medical College are being considered with utmost seriousness and actions will be taken.
