Srinagar: Security forces arrested five terrorists. The arrested are the activists of the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. The terrorists were arrested from the Kralppara area of Kupwara district. The police conducted the investigation after receiving information from the Kupwara district police and the army.
The terrorists had provided weapons and ammunition to the people widely in the area. Following this information, Abu Ruf Malik, son of terrorist Mohammad Malik, Althaf Ahmed Payer and Riyaz Ahmed Lone were arrested. After detailed interrogation, more people were arrested. They also revealed two hideouts of the terrorists.
AK rifles, magazines, ammunition, pistols, hand grenades, IEDs, detonators, wire bundles and a water tank were recovered from the Kupwara-based hideout. The trio had received Rs 6 lakh for building bases and buying arms and ammunition. Out of this, Rs 64,000 was also recovered by the investigation team.
The agent who exchanged terrorists has been detained as part of the investigation. Fayaz Geelani, an agent, was taken into custody. Arrested terrorists said that he is promoting terrorist activities and giving necessary training to youths to join in the organizations.
