Ernakulam: Pinarayi government has apologized to the court in the case related to the destruction of public property during the Popular Front strike.
The Additional Chief Secretary apologized while the court was hearing the case today. The state government clarified that the government has assigned land revenue commissioner with the revenue recovery measures and that there was no willful failure to implement the court order. Additional Chief Secretary Dr V Venu said that the properties found by the Registration Department would be confiscated by January 15 and asked the High Court for one more month to complete the acquisition.
The court pointed out that it is important to protect public funds. The court criticized the government while considering the petition last day. The six-month delay in confiscating the property has led to criticism.
