New Delhi: Parliament adjourned without completing the winter session. The meetings that were scheduled to be held till 29th were cancelled 6 days earlier. The decision was taken in view of the nationwide emergency situation and the opposition’s constant disruption of the activities.
It is estimated that many important bills and procedures will not be completed during this session. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs informed that the House has left because the Ministers and MPs need to be prepared for the Corona emergency situation.
The opposition parties have been constantly disrupting the proceedings of the House over China’s Tawang provocation. Many procedures cannot be completed within the next six days. Failure to pass the Bills has also been cited as the main reason for the early suspension of the House. Yesterday alone, the church proceedings were interrupted five times. The House decided to adjourn when it confirmed that it would not get enough days to complete the procedures as it needs 17 working days.
