Kochi: New Year’s Eve celebrations in Kochi will be limited to 12 midnight, police said. The City Police Commissioner said that there will be a strict check on the celebrations after twelve o’clock including DJ events. A strict ban has been imposed on drug parties. The commissioner also informed that Mufti police will be present at the venues where the parties are held.
The commissioner added that there will be no lapse in registering the names of the participants in the New Year celebrations. Similar restrictions have been imposed across the district. The Rural Police also informed that the presence of police will be ensured at all important places within the district boundaries.
Police are on high alert for this New Year celebrations after Corona. It has been ensured that there are CCTV cameras in all hotels and places where parties are held. Two weeks ago, the police started surveillance to ensure that no drug parties were taking place. The police also informed that strict action will be taken if those parties are found.
