Thiruvananthapuram: It is reported that the number of POCSO cases have increased in the state. A total of 3729 POCSO cases were reported in the state this year. Last year it was 3559.The number of reported cases has been increasing in the state for two years.
Thiruvananthapuram district has reported the highest number of cases this year. 475 cases were reported in the state capital. 450 cases have been reported in Malappuram district, 368 cases in Ernakulam, 350 cases in Kozhikode, 322 cases in Kollam and 307 cases in Thrissur. Even though the law requires the POCSO cases be completed within one year, there are cases in the state that have been pending for years.
