Thiruvananthapuram: Procedures have begun in connection with the confiscation of the assets of the accused who had destroyed public properties. The confiscation is to compensate the loss on the day of hartal.
The list on the details of the assets have been reached at all Sub Registrar offices in the State. The details of the assets will be handed over to the District Registrar.
The District Registrar, should hand over the details to the Registration IG. The case details of the registered cases have been handed over to the Tahsildar. The Village Officers are directed to enquire over the assets of the accused and submit report. After receiving the details of the assets, revenue recovery procedure will be taken.
The High Court had raised harsh criticism on the State Government for delaying the revenue recovery proess to confiscate the culprits’ assets. The Government, in return, had apologised and informed the court that the recovery process will be completed within a month. The court will consider the case again on 18 th of this month so as to evaluate the progress of the recovery.
