Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has approved the recommendation of the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to reinstate Saji Cherian as minister. Saji Cherian will be sworn in as minister at 4 pm tomorrow. Governor had sought legal advice over the CM’s recommendation as the case against Saji Cherian is still in the court.
It is hinted that Saji Cherian will get back the sections of fisheries, culture and youth affairs.
Saji Cherian was forced to resign after his controversial speech during a programme organised by the CPM area committee at Mallappally in Pathanamthitta on 3 July last year. He resigned on 6 July after his anti constitutional statements.
Meanwhile, Saji Cherian responded that he has not yet received any information regarding the reinstatement and he will swear in if he gets intimation regarding the same. Saji Cherian added that he had not told anything against the constitution.
