Kannur: Kannur topped the first day of the 61st State School Arts Festival. Kannur came in the first position with 232 points. The host district Kozhikode is in the second position with 226 points. Kollam and Palakkad districts are in the third position with 221 points. Thrissur is in fourth position with 220 points.
In the high school general category, 21 of the total 96 items have been completed so far. 29 out of 105 items have been completed in the higher secondary section. 4 out of 19 items completed in the High School Arabic category. 59 competitions will be performed on the second day, today. Oppana, Dafmut, Bharatanatyam, Drama, Mimicry and Light music of the high school section will be performed on the stage today.
14,000 contestants across 24 venues are competing in various programmes at the venue of the 61st youth festival. Asia’s largest art festival, the State School Youth Festival, is being staged at the Westhill Captain Vikram Maidan.
