Kolkata: CPM leader Prakash Karat suggested his workers to consider RSS as a model. He advised the workers that if they work as hard as the RSS, success can be attained for sure. He stated that to defeat the BJP and the RSS, the Left needs an ideological and political struggle and should emulate the RSS in its actions. Karat also said that the work of RSS is socially, culturally and educationally strong.
He said that RSS is working day and night through various organizations and it needs to be imitated. He mentioned that in Odisha, where the Left’s presence is weak, the RSS had more than 1000 schools even 15 years ago and was performing well. Karat also pointed out that the constant activities of the RSS are influencing a large number of people ideologically. He was speaking at the 57th Foundation Day program of CPM’s mouthpiece Ganashakti in Kolkata.
The non-left parties think that if they form an alliance before the elections, they can get rid of the BJP threat. But he also mentioned that such moves are useless as they cannot fight ideological and political battles. Earlier, Karat had made a statement that the RSS should be set as an example and that statement made at the national conference of CITU had led to much discussions.
