New Delhi: As part of reforms in the higher education sector, the central government has announced that campuses of leading foreign universities will be allotted in India. It is reported that the campuses of major universities like Yale, Oxford and Stanford will be allowed and students will be given the opportunity to receive degrees.
For the first time in the country, a draft report has been prepared to seek public opinion on allowing foreign universities. The draft proposal says that students from India and abroad can become part of the campus and the admission criteria can be decided by the campuses themselves.
It is also suggested that the campuses of foreign universities can decide the fee and the scholarship. The central government is providing opportunities for Indian students who want to study at an affordable cost from leading foreign universities.
