Wayanad: The time limit for submitting complaints on buffer zone issue will end today. Complaints can be submitted till 5 pm. More than 5.5 lakh complaints have already been received through the help desks. Although the field survey is in progress, information on new constructions has not been fully covered.
At present, 54607 complaints have been received in the help desks of various local bodies. Out of this, 17054 complaints are said to have been resolved. Most complaints were received under peechy wildlife. 12445 complaints have been reported here alone. Though the deadline to file complaints ends today, the buffer zone field survey in Wayanad has not been completed in most areas. The cause of the crisis was the issue in the working of ‘Asset Mapper’ an app used for geo-tagging.
Wayanad is one of the most affected districts under the buffer zone. This is where the field survey could not be completed even on the last day. Only the Tirunelli panchayat has completed the procedures . In other areas, including Bateri, the field survey could not be completed. Panchayat administrations deployed volunteers but the field survey was interrupted as the asset mapper app was not working.
