Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V. Sivankutty told that Mohanan Namboothiri’s earlier statement, that shows his willingness to refrain from the cooking at the venue of Kerala State Youth Festival, should not be made controversial. According to the tender, Pazhayidam took up the initiative and performed his responsibility well . He performed the work assigned to him in Kerala State Youth Festival. The minister said that the government has no complaint in this regard.
‘Kerala’s opinion does not belong to one or two people. Those who post on social media need to be aware about such matters. Some people’s opinion might have hurt him. The minister said that caste references are not part of the culture.
Pazhayidam namboothiri had said that the campaign in the social media had hurt him. So he informed that he will not be the in charge of cooking from the next Youth Festival onwards. He also stated that he is withdrawing from the responsibility of food in the science fair to be held in Thrissur.
After the controversies over food, when the art festival ended last day, an announcement was made by the minister that there will be non vegetarian cuisines from next year as well. The minister had also said that the Youth Festival manual will also be revised to serve meat and fish.
