New Delhi: Tata Group is planning to manufacture iPhone in the country. India will achieve an extraordinary step with the Tata Group taking over the Bengaluru manufacturing unit of the Taiwan Company Wistron Corp. It is reported that the negotiations regarding the acquisition of the plant are in progress. As per the reports, the process will be completed by the end of March.

Different parts of the iPhones are mainly assembled by the leading Taiwan companies Wistron and Foxconn Technologies. China’s electronics industry faced a crisis due to political tensions with the US at the time of the Covid crisis. Tata’s involvement will boost India’s efforts to end China’s authority. Tata and Wistron had several rounds of discussions on various partnership possibilities.

Tata also plans to open 100 Apple stores in the country. The first showroom will open in March in Mumbai. With this, Tata will also become a company challenging China in the field of electronics production. With the completion of the acquisition process, Tata will become the leading electronics manufacturing company in India.

Apple, the world’s largest Smartphone maker, is moving away from over-dependence on China. Due to the Covid crisis, the interruption in the supply chain and other things had a negative impact on the production of the iPhone and this prompted Apple to leave China.
