Kochi: The High Court has today hindered the distribution of Aravana as the presence of pesticides was found in the cardamom used for the preparation of Aravana Prasadam. The court has also directed to test the samples of aravana and asked the food safety officer to assure the quality of cardamom that use in aravana.
The court’s statements came after FSSAI’s report on the presence of cardamom in aravana. If good quality cardamom is not available, aravana can be prepared without adding cardamom, said the High Court.
The Food Safety Authority has informed that the cardamom added in the Aravana prasadam in Sabarimala is not up to the mark. FSSAI, in its report submitted before the High Court today, clarified that around 14 types of pesticides that may cause chronic health problems, were found in the cardamom during the laboratory test. High Court’s statement is in the wake of this report.
