Mumbai: Maharashtra Government has decided to set up a training centre for aspirant girls who are interested to join in the National Defence Academy. A total of sixty girls will be given entry to the first batch.
The training centre, opening in June in Nasik will be in the initial phase, the branch of the pre-military training institute for boys in Aurangabad, which was started in the year 1977.
As per the official statement, the training institute for girls in Nashik will function from June 2023.
The defence ministry’s historical decision to allow women in the National Defence Academy was taken in the year 2021.
