Thiruvananthapuram: The UGC has ordered an inquiry against former Journalist and Professor Arun Kumar in the case of the recent caste abuse against Pazhayidam Mohanan Namboothiri. Pazhayidam Namboothiri is an eminent culinary expert who has been preparing and serving food for thousands of people, every year at the venues of Kerala Youth Festival.
Chairman Jagadesh Kumar ordered the inquiry. The Joint Secretary was directed to submit the report immediately.
Arun Kumar is a professor in Kerala University. Based on the investigation report, further action will be taken against Arun Kumar. Arun’s statement was that serving vegetarian food at the State School Youth Festival was an attempt to impose Brahmanical supremacy and students should be served non vegetarian food. After this became a controversy, Pazhayidam said that he will no longer cook for the Kerala Youth Festival.
