Tennis star Sania Mirza has given indications of her retirement. The player has told that she is retiring from her career with the Dubai Open, which will be held after the upcoming Australian Open. Sania responded when the tournament is all set to start on January 16.
Sania (36) has shared a deeply emotional note on her brilliant career through social media. Sania hinted that this is a time to relieve from her career, which began at the age of 6 at the Nizam Club in Hyderabad. Sania also said that she is thankful to her team and family for giving her all the support that helps her to excel in her career.
“The competition that started at the age of six is reaching its final stage. The eyes are tearful. Life must go on. It doesn’t look like the end of anything. There are still many different memories to be made. This is just the beginning. Dreams must come true. Need to set new goals. This is the time when my son needs me the most. Sania has won six Grand Slam titles in her career that extends for two decades. If the retirement news comes true, the Australian Open, starting on Monday,will be the last grand slam tournament in Sania’s life.
