Kathmandu: A plane caught fire at Nepal’s international airport. The accident took place near the Pokhara airport. 40 dead bodies have been recovered from the plane crash. The accident occurred on the 15th day after the beginning of its service. It is reported that the plane belongs to Yathi Airlines, a domestic flight.
The Yathi Airlines flight, which was returning from Kathmandu airport, crashed just before landing at Pokhara airport.There were 72 people on board, including four crew members.
According to the Indian Embassy in Nepal, there were five Indians among the passengers. The embassy also tweeted that rescue operations are progressing. 14 foreigners were there including Indians. 4 Russians, 2 South Koreans, an Irish citizen, 1Australian, 1 French citizen, and a person from Argentina were there in the plane. The airline company informed that two pilots and two air hostesses were there among the crew.
Pushma Kamal, the Prime Minister of Nepal, expressed his condolences over the incident and has also called an emergency cabinet meeting. The Chiefs of Various nations also expressed grief over the accident.
The accident took place around 11 am today. The primary conclusion is that the bad weather is the cause of the incident. The spot of the incident is located between the old airport and the Pokhara International Airport.
