Thrissur: After Kerala’s first transgender bodybuilder committed suicide, his wife, Rishana Aishu attempted to end her life as well. She apparently consumed cockroach pills and is now admitted at Thrissur Medical College.
Praveen Nath, her husband had committed suicide on Thursday morning following cyber attacks led from a rumour of the couple splitting up. The rumour was denied by him through a Facebook post which resulted in a strong cyber attack against him. Rumours of his divorce largely spread in online media which exhausted him mentally, leading to ending his own life.
The transgender community has lodged a complaint with CM of Kerala and DGP, to take legal action on this matter.
Praveen was a professional bodybuilder and had won the 2021 Mr. Kerala competition in the transgender category and was also a finalist at the 2022 National Bodybuilding competition in Mumbai.
Rishana Aishu is a trans-woman and model. She is also a former Miss Malabar. They had tied their knot on Valentine’s Day 2023.
