Thiruvananthapuram: Justice SV Bhatti has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. He was currently working as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court. The official order has been released by Union Ministry of Law.
SV Bhatti was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court last year. The President approved his appointment. He was working as the Collegium Justice in the Supreme Court when he was recommended as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.
Justice SV Bhatti is a native of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. He was sworn-in as Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on April 12, 2013. He was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh and assumed charge on June 1, 2014. Upon bifurcation and establishment of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati on January 1, 2019, he was sworn in as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Bhatti was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Kerala on March 19, 2019. S Manikumar, the former Chief Justice of Kerala High Court retired on April 24.
