Alappuzha: In a tragic incident, Nakshatra, a second standard student at Mullikulangara Government LP School, was brutally murdered by her intoxicated father. The father, in an alcoholic state, used an axe to slash his daughter’s neck. The child was taken immediately to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, she had already succumbed to her injuries. The horrifying incident took place last night at around 7:30 p.m.
Sunanda (62), Nakshatra’s grandmother, who resides in Mahesh’s sister’s house nearby, heard the scream and rushed to the scene, only to find the child lying lifeless. The police arrested Mahesh (38), the father, in connection with the crime. According to the police report, Mahesh was heavily intoxicated with alcohol at the time of the incident. Mahesh lived in the house with his daughter alone; his wife, Vidhya, passed away a year ago. Furthermore, his father had also tragically lost his life two years ago in a train accident. Following his father’s demise, Mahesh returned home from abroad. According to local residents Mahesh was mentally unstable.
