Arikomban six kilo metres in deep forest: Tamil Nadu Forest Department

Arikomban’s location has been identified. The tusker’s signal was received by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. It is reported that the tusker has moved 6 km from the Upper Kothayar dam site.

Earlier signal from Arikoman was not received. Then a 50-member team from the Tamil Nadu Forest Department was involved in the search. The department stated that the signal was lost, when the elephant entered the forest.

Earlier, tourists were banned in the event at Arikomban wandered in residential areas. Officials said that the ban imposed on the Theni region has now been lifted. The ban was lifted after the Arikomban was translocated to Kothayar from Theni.
