Railway Board permits Koilandi stoppage for Mangala and Maveli Express. The Railway Board has granted permission for Mangala Express and Maveli Express to make halts at Koilandi station. Effective from July 15, Mangala Express, which operates from Nizamuddin to Ernakulam, will include a scheduled stop at Koilandi. Similarly, Maveli Express, running from Mangalore to Thiruvananthapuram, will also commence its stoppage at Koilandi from July 16.
PK Krishnadas, Chairman of the Railway Passengers Amenities Committee and a National Executive Committee Member, had made a request to allow trains that previously stopped at Koilandi, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, to resume their halts. During a visit to review the station’s requirements, Krishnadas met with the Railway Minister and expressed this request. Subsequently, the railway authorities granted permission for the trains to make stops at Koilandi once again. The BJP Koyilandi Mandal Committee extended its congratulations to PK Krishnadas and the Railway Board for this significant accomplishment.
