Ernakulam: The Kerala police have decided to probe more about Afsaq Alam, the accused in the murder of a five-year-old girl at Aluva. An investigation team has already left for Afsaq’a native state Bihar. The main aim of the investigation team is to check his criminal background. An investigation is going on in Delhi, as well, about the accused.
Afsaq’s family resides in the Araria district of Bihar. The police team would reach his home place and conduct further investigations. They will check if the accused is involved in any other crime other than the Gaziapur case.
There is already a case against Afsaq for trying to molest a minor girl. The team will examine the case details of this crime also.
In 2018, Afsaq Alam was arrested in Delhi for trying to molest a minor girl. He was slapped with various charges, including POCSO. It is believed that he reached Kerala after spending one month in jail. He is also an accused in a theft of a mobile phone in Kerala. He uses the money from the stolen items to buy alcohol and get drunk.
