Thiruvananthapuram: There is a chance of heavy rain in the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that, in 11 districts there may be a chance of heavy rain with thunder. The districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur, may get rain in the upcoming three hours.
There is a low pressure created in south-east Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. This low pressure may move to south-west area of Rajasthan within the next two days. There is a cyclone formed on North Andaman Sea. As a result of this, the IMD informed that there may be heavy rain in Kerala for the next four days.
The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has informed that, due to this situation, there is a chance of high waves and storms till 11:30 pm today, on the coast of Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu. It is advised that the fishermen and residents in the coastal area should remain vigilant. As rough seas are likely to intensify, it is advised to stay away from danger zones and protect boats as per the instructions of the authorities.
