Thiruvananthapuram: As a new low pressure has formed in the Bay of Bengal, yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki districts today due to the possibility of rain. A depression has formed in northwest Bay of Bengal near West Bengal-Odisha coast and it is likely to move in a west-north west direction over Odisha-South Jharkhand during the next two days.
At present, a cyclone is prevailing over southwest Rajasthan. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there is a possibility of moderate rain in the state for the next five days. Heavy rain is possible at isolated places. A ban has been imposed on fishing in the Kerala Lakshadweep coasts, but the IMD has informed that there is no obstacle to fishing in the Karnataka coast.
