Kasaragod: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the second Vande Bharat Express train allocated to Kerala. The PM conducted the flag-off ceremony at 12:30 pm via video conference. Leaders, including Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, BJP State President K. Surendran, and BJP National Executive Committee Member P.K. Krishnadas, attended the event held in Kasaragod. Minister V. Abdul Rahman and Raj Mohan Unnithan MP were also present. The Prime Minister inaugurated 9 Vande Bharat trains allocated to 11 states, including Kerala.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the country is witnessing improved infrastructure through high-speed trains. Vande Bharat Express trains represent the nation’s progress, and their popularity is on the rise. In addition to the existing 25 trains in service, 9 more will be inaugurated today in response to passenger demand. The Prime Minister noted that over 11 crore people have traveled on Vande Bharat trains, symbolizing the flag of progress.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Indian Railways has undergone significant transformations over the past nine years. During the inauguration, Central Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav emphasized the provision of modern infrastructure facilities at railway stations across the country, raising them to world-class standards.
Train 02631 was assigned to Kerala, and its maiden journey from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram includes select guests, including students. There will be special stops at three stations, including Kayamkulam, Payyannur, and Thalassery, on the flag-off day.
