Ranchi: A CRPF jawan was martyred in an encounter with Maoist terrorists (Naxals) in Jharkhand. The victim, Rajesh Kumar, was a soldier of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) CoBRA Battalion 209 in West Singhbhum district. Another inspector-ranked officer, Bhupender, was also injured in the encounter.
The incident occurred when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the terrorists exploded in a forest area near Tumbahaka and Sarjomburu villages. The officials injured in the blast were airlifted to Ranchi for treatment. Constable Rajesh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Jharkhand Police IG Amol Vinukant Homkar has officially confirmed this. He also stated that Bhupender’s health condition is satisfactory. A joint operation of forces is underway in the area.
