Thiruvananthapuram: There has been a change in the rain warning for the state. Orange alerts have been withdrawn, and five districts from Wayanad to Kasaragod are now on a yellow alert. The India Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in North Kerala today and tomorrow in South Kerala.
An east-north-east moving extreme low-pressure system is likely to weaken to a low-pressure system during the next 24 hours. A strong low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal is currently located over southeast Jharkhand, West Bengal, and north Odisha. Rains are expected to continue until October 6, although the intensity of the rains will decrease.
It has been announced that although the strength will decrease compared to the previous days, heavy rain can still be expected at intervals. The rain will continue in the coastal areas and hilly areas. Fishing is prohibited along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
