Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Madhya Pradesh has issued a notification introducing a 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs. This change comes through an amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Act of 1997, which the government has recently implemented. It’s important to note that the new amendment is applicable to all government departments except the forest department.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had previously announced this move, indicating that 35 percent reservation would be granted to women in all state departments, including the police force. Additionally, he confirmed that 50 percent of the vacancies in the teaching sector would be reserved for women. Subsequently, the government has formally issued this order.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Chouhan has assured that the monthly assistance provided by the government to housewives will be disbursed promptly. The funds will be transferred to their accounts before any election is announced to ensure timely receipt. Under this scheme, eligible housewives in the state receive Rs 1,250 per month.
As the upcoming elections draw nearer, the BJP has already begun its campaign efforts. The early launch of election campaigns and the involvement of Union ministers in state politics have bolstered the BJP’s prospects. Additionally, the presence of Jyotiraditya Scindia, who wields significant influence in the Gwalior region, further strengthens the party’s position.
