Palakkad: The High Court is set to reconsider various appeals in the Attappadi Madhu murder case today. Among the appeals under consideration are one filed by the government, seeking to charge the convicts with homicide, and another by the accused, seeking to cancel their sentence. In total, 14 defendants have approached the court with appeals related to the case.
The Attappady Madhu case involves the shocking murder of a 30-year old tribal man, and as a result, the prosecution is pushing for a life sentence for the accused. Furthermore, the prosecution has raised concerns that the lower court may have erred in its consideration of the evidence in the case.
The Special Public Prosecutor involved in the case had previously resigned from the position. The resignation was due to opposition from Madhu’s family.
