Thiruvananthapuram: Minister V. Sivankutty has proudly acknowledged Kerala’s exceptional achievements in the field of public education. He expressed the view that no other state in India has been able to match Kerala’s educational accomplishments, and other states often look up to Kerala as a model. The minister made these remarks during his speech at the inauguration of a state-level workshop for education officers in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ministry of Public Education officials should exert continuous efforts to sustain the high standards set by Kerala’s Education Department. This government has consistently advocated for the preservation of all schools that face closure. Kerala has consistently pursued a distinctive path when compared to most other states in the country, where public schools are often replaced by private institutions,” Minister V. Sivankutty emphasized.
In Kerala, all children attend school, and the rate of child dropout is notably low. The state’s greatest strength lies in the fact that nearly all enrolled children complete their 12th standard, and each class is taught by a trained teacher. The minister also highlighted that over the last seven years, the education sector has seen an investment of nearly Rs 3800 crores.
