Wayanad: A youth was found dead in Karyambathy, Pulppalli, on Monday morning around 8 a.m. A blood-stained axe was also found in front of the house, and the father of the young man was missing. Police suspect that the youth may have been killed by his father using the axe.
The deceased has been identified as Amaldas, aged 22, and he was the son of Thekkekkara Sivadasan, a native of Kaduvakkunnu in Karymabathi. Neighbours had found the young man lying in a pool of blood, with an axe left at the portico of the house. The police are working on the assumption that a quarrel between the father and son may have led to the murder of Amaldas.
According to the neighbours, Sivadasan, the prime suspect in the murder, used to beat his wife and children after consuming alcohol. Troubled by her husband’s actions, Sivadasan’s wife had relocated to another house with their daughter.
On Monday morning, Amal received a phone call from his sister, and she heard some vague sounds of dispute before the call ended. She immediately contacted the neighbours of Sivadasan and informed them about this. The neighbours rushed to the house and found Amaldas dead.
Ward member Sindhu and her husband Sabu, who were the first to reach the scene, promptly contacted the police to report the murder. By 9 a.m., the police arrived at the location and initiated a search operation to locate Sivadasan.
