Hyderabad: The BJP has released the first-phase list of candidates for the ongoing assembly elections in Telangana. The list comprises candidates for 55 out of the 119 assembly constituencies in the state. These include 20 candidates from Backward Classes, 14 from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 14 from the Reddy community, and 6 from the Velama community.
Notably, the current list does not include the names of prominent BJP figures, such as Vice-President DK Aruna, former MPs Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, M Vijayashanti, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman. However, they are expected to be included in the next phase of candidate announcements.
