Kottayam: The Panachikkadu Dakshina Mookambika Saraswathi Temple is all set to mark the start of the festive spirit of the Vidhyarambham ceremony, where approximately 25,000 children will take their first steps into the world of letters. This significant event is scheduled to take place tomorrow, drawing thousands of devotees to the temple in search of blessings.
The temple’s spiritual preparations were marked by the pooja ceremony conducted yesterday in front of the shrine dedicated to the goddess Saraswathi. Preceding this, the ‘Grantham ezhunnallippu,’ a procession showcasing special books, is a notable feature of the festivities. These books are worshipped in a specially adorned mandapam (hall) in front of the shrine of the goddess Saraswati. A ‘Velli Anki’ (silver robe) was also offered to the deity.
The holy books kept for Pooja will be taken from the mandapam at two o’clock tomorrow morning. The Vidyarambham ritual is set to commence at 4:00 a.m., as around 25,000 children are expected to participate, marking their initiation into the world of knowledge by writing the auspicious ‘Harisree.’
