Kochi: Three judicial officers were formally sworn in as additional judges of the Kerala High Court. Justices Johnson John, Gopinathan U Girish, and C. Pratheepkumar took their oaths during a ceremony held at 10:15 a.m. today.
The recommendations for these judicial appointments were made by the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. The Collegium had proposed the names of five eminent judicial officers for appointment as judges of the Kerala High Court. The names included M. B. Snehalatha, Johnson John, G. Girish, C. Pratheepkumar, and P. Krishna Kumar. Last week, the Central Government granted its approval for the appointment of three of them.
