Kochi: In a move seen as a retaliatory action by the Pinarayi government in the wake of the Kalamassery blast, the police have registered a case against a Janam TV reporter. The police have filed a case against the reporter on allegations of attempting to incite conflicts between the two factions. This legal action comes in response to a complaint filed by PK Firos, the General Secretary of the Muslim Youth League.
The decision to file this case comes amidst the backdrop of the Kalamassery blast, where the police have been reluctant to take action against CPI (M) State Secretary MV Govindan. MV Govindan had raised concerns over the possibility of a terrorist attack and suggested that the incident could be politically motivated. He stated that, from a political standpoint, it should be seen as an act of terrorism, possibly planned to divert public attention while Kerala is actively supporting Palestine.
Despite the police registering a case against Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, for alleged hate propaganda, no action has been taken against the CPI (M) State Secretary till now.
