Wayanad: In a tragic incident, a plantation worker lost his life in a wild elephant attack in Wayanad’s Meppadi. The heart-wrenching event unfolded at Elimbileri in Meppadi, resulting in the untimely demise of Kunjavaran, a 58-year-old gardener. The attack occurred as Kunjavaran was en route to his workplace.
Meanwhile, local residents are staging a protest with the deceased’s body in the area. They have declared that they will not cremate the body until appropriate security measures are implemented. Forest department officials have arrived at the scene.
This region is known for frequent wild elephant attacks, and locals have asserted that they have repeatedly contacted the authorities for improved security measures, but no action has been taken thus far.
