Palakkad: An elderly man, identified as Rajappan, hailing from Chinnathadagam in Tamil Nadu, lost his life after being trampled by a wild elephant in Attappadi. The tragic incident occurred when a rogue elephant ventured into a residential area in Puliyampatti. Rajappan’s remains were transported to Kottathara Hospital.

This marks the fifth fatality within the past six months due to wild elephant attacks in Attappadi. Last October 19, another elderly man named Balan, from the Sambarkod area, was similarly trampled to death while tending to his goats.
