Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory indicating a chance of rain in the state of Kerala today. A yellow alert has been declared for Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious, as winds of up to 40 kmph are expected.
Fishing activities along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts are currently unrestricted. The IMD warns of isolated rain accompanied by thunder and lightning over the next five days.
The very intense depression that was previously reported has now weakened to a depression over North Tripura. A cyclone is positioned over the southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka, while another cyclonic circulation is identified over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea.
