Thiruvananthapuram : Departments were announced after two new ministers took charge in the second Pinarayi government. However, there was no indication that Kadannappalli Ramachandran would get the Port Department, which was handled by Ahamed Devarkovil. Only the registration, archaeology, and museum departments were handed over to Kadannappalli. Cooperation Minister VN Vasavan got the port department instead. The transport department, previously managed by Antony Raju, was handed over to KB Ganesh Kumar. Kerala Congress (B) had given a letter asking to assign film department to Ganesh Kumar. But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan rejected the demand.
Kadannappalli Ramachandran and KB Ganesh Kumar were sworn in as ministers yesterday evening. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath to the ministers in a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. The Governor was not ready to meet the Chief Minister, who arrived at the swearing-in ceremony. The dissatisfaction between the two was evident during the ceremony.
