Thrissur: BJP state president K. Surendran stated that the imposition of the non-bailable section of IPC against Suresh Gopi is aimed at casting a shadow on the Prime Minister’s visit. He also alleged that the government is targeting Suresh Gopi. He made these remarks while addressing the media at an event organized in Thrissur.
“The Kozhikode police, who investigated the case, could not find any evidence against Suresh Gopi. However, there was a political conspiracy in Thiruvananthapuram, leading to the imposition of the non-bailable section (Section 354). With the elections approaching, efforts are being made to distance Suresh Gopi from the public. This kind of dirty politics won’t succeed. The police are trying to shield the accused in the Karuvannur Co-operative Bank and Thrissur Co-operative Bank scams while attempting to trap Suresh Gopi,” said K. Surendran. He further clarified that none of this will be worthwhile in Thrissur.
Surendran made these remarks during a ceremony to welcome leaders from the Jacob faction of the Kerala Congress to the BJP.
