Palakkad: In a significant development, two individuals were apprehended in Kanjikode, Palakkad, for transporting money in a car. A total of Rs 1.88 crore in hawala cash was seized from the vehicle. Muhammad Kutty and Muhammad Nizam, residents of Malappuram, were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The accused claimed that the money was intended for business purposes, but they were unable to produce the necessary documents to support this statement. The cash was concealed inside the car. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
