Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Muhammed Khan adopted a firm stance against the government during the budget session in Thiruvananthapuram. His policy announcement speech, which spanned sixty-three pages, concluded abruptly after just two minutes. Notably, the Governor only read the final paragraph. Despite Chief Minister and Speaker’s presence to bid farewell, the Governor left the House without any visible acknowledgment.
Although Governor Khan fulfilled his constitutional duties, his dissatisfaction with the state government remained evident. It was the first time in history that the legislature witnessed such scenes. The Assembly is set to reconvene on Monday.
