Thrissur: CPI leader and Thrissur MLA P Balachandran withdrew the controversial Facebook post that insulted Hindu gods and beliefs following a public outcry. In another post, Balachandran expressed apologies if he had offended believers. He also mentioned that, upon reviewing a Kathakali story he had written in the past, it was inadvertently posted on Facebook. The MLA stated that he removed the post on the advice of his friends and sincerely regrets any offense caused to believers.
Yesterday (Wednesday), Thrissur MLA P Balachandran shared the controversial social media post on Facebook that insults Hindu gods, Lord Sri Rama, Sita Devi, and Lakshmana. This is not the first instance of such remarks from left-wing politicians. Earlier in July 2023, Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer faced strong condemnation from several BJP leaders and Hindu believers for his anti-Hindu remarks.
